What is 3D printing?

3D printing is a way of making a physical object from a digital design. Instead of cutting a shape from a larger piece of material, a 3D printer builds the object layer by layer until the finished piece takes form.

At Crosscut3d, we use FDM, which stands for fused deposition modelling. The printer heats a reel of filament and places it precisely, one thin layer at a time. This gives us the flexibility to create detailed, useful designs and bring new ideas to life.

From household items and hobby accessories to wall art, keyrings and gifts, 3D printing helps us make pieces that are practical, personal and designed for real life. It is a clever mix of digital design, careful testing and hands-on making.
